Earlier this year, Lil Wayne caught heat after he put the city of New York on blast saying “flat out: I don’t like New York,” this stemmed from him serving time for catching a weapons charge in NYC. Recently, Weezy was on the Jim Rome show and chopped it up about sports mostly, but also got real and took time to lend his support to those affected by the Sandy Hook shootings.
A remorseful Wayne made reference to doing time for a weapons charge, and feels that especially after the tragedy that befell the Connecticut elementary school, that he wishes he could undo what happened back in ’07. “Before I leave, I want to say you mentioned that in 2010, I was locked up for a weapon. If there was anything I could do in my life that I could ever change, it'd be that,” a rather emotional Tunechi then added, “Sandy Hook Elementary, my heart goes out to you." He even exposed that “Sandy Hook Elementary” was written across his shirt.
This is in stark contrast to the comments made by another rapper yesterday, when Gunplay took to Twitter to voice that he believed the Sandy Hook shootings were part of a government conspiracy in order to enact gun control laws.
