Back in the early two-thousands, The Diplomats were a force to be reckoned with. The foursome, made up of Cam'Ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey, released the excellent Diplomatic Immunity, which cemented them as one of hip-hop's hardest collectives. Unfortunately for the fans, the Dipset era came to an end, with rumors of creative differences speculated to be a major catalyst in the split. Still, rumors of a reunion have been popping off since 2010, and the crew have released a few singles over the years. Even today, hope of the fabled Dipset reunion album still lingers. And now, there may very well be a fresh dose of gasoline for that particular fire.
It has been confirmed that a complete Dipset roster will perform at Spotify's RapCaviar Live concert, which is set to take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, Tuesday, November 21. It's a good sign that the crew may very well be in the process of working on some new music, and if all goes well, perhaps the concert will reinvigorate a creative spark in the quartet. Either way, New York based fans should probably look into this performance, as it will mark Dipset's first full reunion since 2013 marked the tenth anniversary of Diplomatic Immunity.
If a Dipset reunion isn't enough to interest you, the RapCaviar event has also tapped A$AP Mob, with many more acts awaiting confirmation. Tickets for the New York show are set to go on sale Friday, Oct. 20 at 10:00 a.m, via Ticketmaster. The concert series will be hitting six major cities, with New York being the fourth show in the lineup. Dates in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston have also been announced.
In the meantime, stay tuned for more news on a possible Dipset reunion.
