In a new report whipped up by SoundCloud, Lil Uzi's year of accomplishments continues as his Luv Is Rage 2 drop of this year has offically been named the streaming platform's top-peforming album of the year with "XO Tour Llif3" clocking out at the Top Rap/Hip-Hop track.
"We’ve amped up this year’s list for a total of 17 categories that touch every corner of the SoundCloud ecosystem, from hip-hop, pop, dance and rock, to what’s new, now and next in music culture," SoundCloud states. "This year’s list celebrates the diverse creativity on the platform and within our community–everything from the buzziest tags in 2017 like ChillHop and Vaporwave, to the year’s most creative cities."
SoundCloud also goes on to offer up some insight on other artists who dominated the year, placing artists like Post Malone, Kehlani, Khalid, Lil Pump, and Trippie Redd among those who were on SoundCloud first and "owned 2017."
SZA's Travis Scott-assisted "Love Galore" took the title as Top R&B/Soul Track while Logic's "1-800-273-8255" single alongside Alessia Cara and Khalid earned the distinction of Top Pop track.
Other interesting tidbits presented by the list included the naming of cities like Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Houston as top cities driving creativity while SoundCloud also names a host of new artists to keeep an eye on as we usher in the new year. According to the list, you should be careful not to sleep on the New York-based Ro Ransom, Chicago's Lil Wop, and Atlanta-based Bosco among others.
