DJ and producer Thrice Groove has been establishing himself as a mainstay in the Atlanta nightlife scene for quite some time now. Known for his distinct mixes blending the best of the past, present, and future of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic sounds, he now returns with his latest single in the form of the Munir Zakee-assisted “Energy.”
You’ll quickly notice a soulful bass line holding things down as Munir and Thrice trade off on a dynamic change of pace, boasting a clear melting pot of influences.
“My musical journey has been about ‘how can I best express myself?'” Thrice Groove once mentioned of the creative process that produces such sounds. "I’ve always been quiet[…] a lot of what planted the seed for my sound was when I went to London for the first time as a kid. This was when Craig David was the man and I heard a lot of other styles of music, including house and elements of jazz being fused with soul. It just really opened me up.”
Quotable Lyrics:
Still up with it right now
No way Imma lose now
Only one I compete with is me
