Blac Chyna is in the midst of a transition from reality TV star to full-blown rap artist. With big names like Yo Gotti, Tory Lanez, Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee and Joe Budden all rumored to be attached to the project in one way or another, the curiosity has gotten the better of many hip-hop fans, with speculation running wild as to what Chyna's sonic identity will sound like. In a new video interview with XXL, she delved into exactly what she's hoping to have her music accomplish and, if nothing else, she's not shying away from ambitious goals.
In a video clip that Chyna shared to her Instagram profile, she made it clear right away that she's putting a lot of effort into the immediacy of her rap project's sound. "I want to make music that, like, reflects me," she began. "What's going on at that present time. You know, it's kind of like a movie, how I'm looking at it." In fact, it seems as though Blac Chyna has and will be using her studio sessions as a therapeutic exercise to deal with the issues she has swirling around her almost constantly.
"So if this is happening right now, I want to speak on it right then and there," she added. "But at the same time, I want it to be timeless." She clarified later on that she doesn't mean revealing too much or getting too personal with her audience, but she also wants anyone going through a similar rough patch in their life to identify with her music and lyrics as a means to overcome their struggle.
Perhaps Chyna will use of some her musical real estate on this upcoming release to discuss her rumored relationship with rapper PLayboi Carti. After the two were spotted getting cozy on a cruise together, she posted yet another picture of the two of them together on social media, which has only fanned the flames of their unconfirmed but, at the moment, seemingly very public romance. In any event, Chyna's album release will certainly be one of the more scrutinized hip-hop event in the near future.
