Listen to The Weeknd's new song "Hurt You" featuring Gesaffelstein off "My Dear Melancholy."

All week long, we’ve been hearing rumors that The Weekend had new music dropping this Friday, and it turns out they were right. At the stroke of midnight, Abel released a surprise EP called My Dear Melanchly, his first project since 2016’s Starboy. The 6-song EP features a lone appearance from French DJ Gesaffelstein, who actually appears twice on the project, meanwhile production is handled by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Skrillex, Vinylz, Mike WiLL Made-It, and Frank Dukes who serves as the executive producer.

Looking to highlight one of the records, here goes the song “Hurt You” featuring Gesaffelstein. On this song, Abel gives out a warning to a woman who’s seemingly in love with him, but he doesn't feel the same way. There’s speculation about this song (and entire EP for that matter) being about one of his exes, like Selena Gomez or Bella Hadid, but that’s just based on a couple quick listens. However it does seem to be the case nevertheless.

Take a listen to the new release and let us know what you think! (Project available on iTunes)

Quotable Lyrics:

And now I know relationship's my enemy
So stay away from me
I'm warning you
You try to fill the void with every man you meet
'Cause you're upset with me
I'm warning you
