Ray Lewis has officially flip-flopped.

Ray Lewis suddenly became woke on the sideline of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars tilt in London and the Internet isn't having any of it.

The retired linebacker, who is arguably the most celebrated player in the Ravens franchise, was caught on video kneeling during the playing of the U.S. National Anthem before Sunday’s game in London, England. The irony is especially delicious since Lewis was one of the most vocal detractors of embattled quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who the Ravens were apparently courting for a backup position during the offseason.

“And I’ve said this many times, we both agree, like, what he did, I’m 100 percent for racial justice, 100 percent,” Lewis said during an appearance on Fox Sports’ Skip and Shannon: Undisputed. “Trust me, I lived it myself. So you don’t have to convince me of that part. How he did it? Totally different thing. I don’t totally agree with that.” After word got out that Baltimore was going to pass on Kaepernick, Lewis went on record as saying that the team opted not to sign the QB because of a racially-charged tweet by Kaep's girlfriend, radio personality Nessa “Ness Nitty” Diab.

“Then, his girl [Colin Kaepernick's girlfriend] goes out and put out this racist gesture and doesn’t know we are in the back office about to try to get this guy signed,” Lewis said. “Steve Bisciotti has said it himself, ‘How can you crucify Ray Lewis when Ray Lewis is the one calling for Colin Kaepernick?’” The question is now this: if Lewis disagreed with Kaepernick's approach to protesting, then why is he all of a sudden engaging in just that, with multiple television cameras on to capture the moment for all to see? At the very least, it hurts the former defensive giant's perceived consistency on the issue. Twitter took notice and wasn't shy about pointing this discrepancy out.
