Famous Dex's latest drop finds him exploring some new, softer sonic directions.

You've gotta admire a man willing to take musical risks. For those quick to write off Famous Dex as somewhat of a one-trick-pony, the animated Freshman-aspirant has come through with a genre-bending single. Enlisting the Ed Sheeran co-signed Drax Project, Dexter has decided to switch the style up, embarking down a more pop-adjacent path. While exuberant rapper's style may be a little too zany for commercial radio, "Light" may very well be his most sincere attempt thus far.

In fact, the ad-libs are surprisingly scarce on this one. Dexter opts for a more melodic approach, drowning his vocals in autotune as he waxes poetic about a lustful, yet romantic tryst. Taking shots at the unnamed woman's questionable boyfriend, Dexter ridicules those prone to online feuding. "Your man a loser," sings Dex, "he a goofy, he beef on computers."

Stay tuned for Dex Meets Dexter, which is set to drop on April 6th. In the mean time, enjoy Dexter and Drax Project's melodic offering. If you, however, enjoy beefing on computers, you may want to sit this one out.

Quotable Lyrics

Swear to God girl your man a loser
He a goofy, he beef on computers
I want you baby swear to God I won't hurt you
I might put you on a cursor
