Curry weighs in on the possibility of buying the Panthers

The Carolina Panthers' season ended yesterday in New Orleans with a 31-26 loss to the Saints. As a result, the Panthers are now officially for sale.

The team's former owner, Jerry Richardson, announced his plans to sell the team a few weeks ago after he was accused of sexual and racial misconduct toward former Panthers employees, but said he'd wait until the season was over.

Now that Carolina's season is in the books, it's time for a new owner to step in and there are several parties interested including Diddy, Steph Curry and former NFL QB Colin Kaepernick.

Curry, who grew up in North Carolina, was asked about the possibility of owning the Panthers after today's shootaround and says, despite his "day job," he's prepared to do what it takes to make it happen.

Steph also says he's already had talks with Diddy about the "different opportunities and options" they can pursue together.

“It’s a pretty interesting opportunity,” Curry said today. “I’ve had conversations with plenty of people about the right way to go about it and kind of the different approaches I could personally take. Obviously I have a day job but I’ve got people that are plugged in and trying to see how to make that happen.”

The Panthers went 11-5 this season but lost to the division rival New Orleans Saints three different times, including yesterday's defeat in the Wild Card round. According to reports, some experts believe the team could sell for more than $2 billion.
