Lil Wayne adds another high-caliber name to his Young Money sports roster.

Lil Wayne is a man who isn't about to stop catching the W's, in music and otherwise. After a scary incident where the rapper experienced multiple seizures while in his hotel room, his team told the press that he had no plans to take time off or lighten the load of his considerably dense schedule in the near future. In fact, if you've been following the Weezy headlines as of late, he continues to go full steam ahead. The veteran emcee gave NBA star Damian Lillard (aka Dame D.O.L.L.A) an assist on his latest track, "Run It Up." Both rappers acquit themselves well over the Scott Storch production, but Wayne lends an instantly recognizable flair to a song that will be aided by that top-of-mind recall. In addition to that, the world of sports felt the ripple effect of Lil Wayne's greatness yesterday, with TMZ reporting that his Young Money Sports agency has signed another high-level pro athlete to its roster.

Young Money APAA Sports & Entertainment Agency has reportedly inked a deal with boxer Jermell Charlo, whose name may not be familiar to the casual sports fan, but he's by no means an amateur-level performer. Charlo already has quite the career under his belt, with a current record of 29-0 and has been named the super welterweight champion of the world. Charlo's next bout is against Erickson Lubin at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on October 14th. In anticipation of the fight, he struck a pose with Young Money president Mack Maine, the man who is largely responsible for bringing the budding superstar into the fold at the agency. The term "superstar" isn't being used lightly here either, with many in the boxing community anticipating that he'll be the next challenger to whomever wins that Carmelo Alvarez/GGG rematch, if there ever is one.

This news is also a sign that the Young Money brand as a whole continues to get stronger over time. With a music roster that includes Drake, Nicki Minaj, Christina Milian and many others, the hip-hop entity's segueway into sports has been a positive experience thus far as well. Check out our list of YM's 2017 roster here.

Update: someone close to Mack Maine and YM reached out to us and said that the initial report from TMZ was false. We will update this story further when more information is available.
