Method Man's contributions to hip hop shouldn't go unnoticed. Between Red and Meth to Wu Tang Clan to his work as a solo artist, he's done a lot in hip hop culture. However, in the past few years, we've seen him more frequently in front of a camera than behind a microphone. He's focused his energy towards movies and television shows, whether he's acting in it or having some sort of behind the scenes role. Recently, it was revealed that Meth is set to appear in a reboot of a classic film alongside Samuel L. Jackson.
According to Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema's reboot of "Shaft " has added Method Man to their cast. Along with Meth, they've also added Jessie T. Usher for the film. Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as John Shaft for the movie while Usher takes on the role of Shaft's son. Method Man will play the role of an old friend from Shaft's neighborhood. Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp and Rich Roundtree are also starring in the film as well. John Singleton will return as the director for the 2017 reboot after directing the 2000 sequel to the film.
Aside from his upcoming role, Meth spent the last year working heavily on screen. He had roles on shows like "The Deuce," "Rebel" and "The Breaks" and also appeared alongside Mike Epps, Terry Crews, Andrew Bachelor and Kat Graham in the movie "Where's the Money." On top of that, he earned a position as a host of the "Drop The Mic" segment on "The Late Late Show With James Corden."
Keep your eyes peeled for the "Shaft" reboot which is expected to be released on June 14th, 2019.
