Lil Wop drops his most evil track yet.

Lil Wop isn't the first artist to to take inspiration from cartoons and anime for their songs, but he's definitely taken his to a much darker place on his latest track, "DEATH NOTE."

The first thing that stands out about this track is the production. The beat is minimalist, ominous, and sinister. It somehow manages to sound hollow, yet claustrophobic at the same time, as though you're walking through a dark sewer. Unlike some other artists trafficking in similarly dark tracks, the mixing on this song is clean. Wop doesn't need distortion to make himself feel threatening, his delivery is capable of doing that on its own.

Lil Wop plays the role of the monster here, reaching deep into the depths of his voice to deliver a guttural and slow-paced flow that invokes images of a monster stalking you in the night. Like the demon pictured in the single art, Lil Wop is not here to comfort you. On the hook of the song, Wop states that "If you step up in his trap house, bitch you wont survive." He's making his intentions clear, and he wont be afraid to tear you apart, limb from limb, should you cross him.

Quotable Lyrics

Let her know before she get the pipe, lil bitch I bite
Rushing through your veins you feel the evil you can't fight
