Toronto's Safe is back with a low-key, melodic offering.

If Drake and The Weeknd didn't make it abundantly clear, the Six is a place where emotional honesty is worn like a badge of honor. Such is life for Toronto's Safe, who returns today with a subtle, melodic banger. The 1Mind produced "No Answer" finds Safe reflecting on a variety of timeless RnB themes, chiefly, the frustration that ensues when a lover ignores your calls. Naturally, those who count themselves among the world's hopeless romantics can attest to experiencing this on at least one occasion. In any case, Safe's wistful and understated vocals make for a smooth, easy listen.

Over a phasing guitar arpeggio, 1Mind propels momentum with a locked-in percussion section, 808s and all. Despite the fact that Safe's still out there, looking for an answer, it seems as if he'll be alright. The young artist continues to expand his catalog, and it's only a matter of time before he comes back to hold it down for the city he claims.

Quotable Lyrics

Came up now a young n***a ballin
You can tell by the way a n***a flossin
No more stressin'
Count em up, it's just blessin' after blessin'
Tell my mama I'ma buy it no more rentin'
