Taking a knee has brought Colin Kaepernick to new heights. Snoop Dogg, French Montana and Common are just a few celebrities to pay their respects on Colin's new title.

Colin Kaepernick has transformed from a football star to a leading activist.

His latest conquer is being named GQ's 2017 "Citizen of the Year." After his athletic dreams were cut short due to him kneeling during the national anthem, Colin has since led an active, but silent, protest against NFL's move of letting him go for doing something he felt was necessary.

"Had (Kaepernick not taken a knee), this guy would be making millions of dollars right now. Period, point blank," rapper J. Cole said in the article. "And more important than the money, he was living his dream. He sacrificed his dream."

As a way to continue his silence, singer Harry Belafonte, director Ava DuVernay and former teammate Eric Reid also shared anecdotes to the publication on behalf of Colin.

The respect for the former football star has not only been penned down on paper but also tweeted and captioned in the world of social media by many celebrities and artists alike.

His long-time girlfriend Nessa, takes the cake for love shown with the number of tweets and Instagram posts supporting her beau. She captions the magazine cover saying, "There will never be enough words to describe @kaepernick7 ‘s brilliance, kindness, and loving heart. PHYSICAL copies are out tomorrow. @gq #manoftheyear #citizenoftheyear ❤️ side note: I’m posting all of his pictures today-so ya be ready 😁❤️."
