Trump Tower in New York was set ablaze.

Residents of Trump Tower on 5th Avenue in New York City got themselves quite the scare this morning when an electrical fire erupted in the building, leaving 2 men injured, one of whom was a civilian.

The Associated Press broke the story earlier today, stating that the fire was caused by a mishap with some of the building's system equipment. Fire officials from nearby New York posts elaborated on this, explaining that "Trump Tower's heating and air conditioning system caused smoke to billow from the roof" and ended up starting a fire.

The fire began early this morning, around 7 a.m. local time. The building, which contains President Donald Trump's home and business offices, needed an hour's worth of attention from fire officials in order for the fire to be extinguished. Of the two men who were injured, the civilian of the two is being treated for severe injuries, though it was not disclosed exactly what those were. A firefighter also sustained injuries stemming from the fire, but those are said to be minor.

Soon after, 45's son, Eric Trump took to Twitter to praise the work of first responders in the area and let people know that incident, although sudden and frightening, was one that didn't lead to any severe outcome. "There was a small electrical fire in a cooling tower on the roof of Trump Tower," he stated. "The New York Fire Department was here within minutes and did an incredible job. The men and women of the #FDNY are true heroes and deserve our most sincere thanks and praise!" Check out his full tweet below.
