The great heights of the electro craze in the mid 2000s produced many a throwback moment where rappers put on their kangol bucket hats for the first and the last time. Montreal's Chromeo was a big part of that era. Their debut She's in Control played large part in sparking a revivalist movement for "electro boogie."
On "Must’ve Been," DRAM gets his singing chops in order in support of the backing band. Chromeo also posted a music video in accordance with the record. The video depicts Chromeo synth player Patrick Gemayel going through a breakup, as his pals storm his house, DRAM even appears fresh out of a box of bubble wrap.
Quotable Lyrics:
I must’ve been high when I met you
Out of my mind when I decided to love you
Now I'm just trying to forget you
I must’ve been
I must’ve been
I must’ve been high when I met you
Out of my mind when I decided to love you
I must’ve been drunk off your words
Twisted off your kisses
I know, I must’ve been
