Shy Glizzy has a lot to be thankful for. Fresh off a Grammy nomination for his song "Crew," Glizzy returns with a new video for "Make It Out," off his Quiet Storm mixtape.
The video starts with a quick-cut montage of California streets. Gunshots blare and Tupac's "California Love" plays briefly, invoking the kind of harsh environment that many California rappers have escaped from. Shy Glizzy is among that group, and the video takes us on a tour of what California is like for him now.
That primarily means cruising around in an all-white Benz truck with the door open, smoking backwoods, and women dancing on poles. It's a lifestyle that seems like a vast improvement from life in the streets, and Glizzy wants us to know it.
