Iggy Azalea opens up about her new single "Savior" and the space she was in when she created it.

Iggy Azalea is getting herself back into the spotlight, with the release of a new single featuring Quavo, "Savior." The song arrived last week, and as to be expected, didn't fare too well with our beloved users, however we imagine young tweens girls (and boys?) are thinking differently, as are the radio gatekeepers.

With a new single out, Iggy is working some press as well, recently doing a short interview with iHeartRadio about the record. She admits to feeling nervous about the single's release, and calls the song "pretty personal."

"This is something you can still have fun to, but I wrote it at a really heavy period in my life where I'd had a lot of changes that happened overnight, where I had a big break-up, and my career wasn't going well. I sort of found myself in this space where everything that I was used to, just my day-to-day routine, had abruptly stopped and I just didn't know how to get my life back together, or what my life looked like with all these changes," Iggy opens up in the interview clip below. "It's hard one to put out there cause it also takes me back to that place, which was so heavy, but it also makes me really happy when I hear it cause I've figured it out for myself."

Iggy speaks more on her debut album, retitled to Surviving the Summer, in the remainder of the interview. She reveals that "Savior" "sets the scene" from day one of a break-up to all the ups and downs from there.

Stay tuned for that release.
