Earlier, Eminem revealed the cover art for his long awaited album Revival, which indicates the project will be heading in a more political direction. In fact, it's Em's most overtly political cover thus far, though he's never shied away from releasing politically-inspired music (Mosh, We As Americans, The Storm). Check out the official artwork for Revival below, courtesy of Em's official website:
And while that's exciting news, there's even more to come. Em has plans on dropping a new single tonight at midnight, though he hasn't specified which one yet. He's already come through with the album's introductory cut "Walk On Water," and it's anybody's guess as to what the followup will sound like. Em recently sat down for an interview with the homie Elton John, and told the legendary singer that he has been working on the album for a year now. "It’s a reflection of where I’m at right now, but also I feel like what I tried to do was diversify," said Em. "I’ve tried to make a little something for everyone."
Seeing as Eminem has one of the biggest fan bases in the world, it's possible that this project might encompass all aspects of his musical persona. We already know he'll be doing a few of his more commercially friendly track, but you know he's going to have a few lyrical onslaughts in the mix. Perhaps this new single will be another indication of where Em's head is at, and might serve to alleviate some of the doubt his tracklist seems to have awoken. Either way, we'll all find out at midnight.
