Wale's recently been in the news for some outburts with fans and non-fans alike. While we've been seeing the less friendly side of the emcee, what most people would like to see from the MMG artist is music. Not to worry, because the rapper has an album and a mixtape on the way.
The D.C. native recently had an interview with Philly's Power 99 and discussed what he has coming up. "I'm dropping my third solo album first, then a couple months after I'll probably drop the Nothing project," he said. "I'm very creative, I'm knee deep in that joint. It's kind of like a persona; thing; I design my records and the sound a certain way for two different projects." On top of these two solo projects, Wale has confirmed a joint mixtape with Meek Mill, which should be arriving after his LP and mixtape.
Although Wale has been criticized for turning to a more commercial or mainstream sound since signing with MMG, the rapper denied this during the interview, and says his upcoming album sounds "very, very soulful." On his involvement in his projects as far as producing goes, he says, "I'm not producing per say, but I'm orchestrating the sound and sequencing," he says of his involvement in his projects.
Wale said of the negative remarks regarding his sound, "I don't think I ever really changed. My first album was 'as commercial' if not more so than the second one."
