Much has been made about the excess number of records T.I. recorded leading up to the release of Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head. Having said he laid down over 120 tracks, Tip has revealed some exciting collabos, many of which appeared on his most recent album. Apparently, one of the major features on "G Season" was close to being a massive one from Jay-Z.
In an interview with XXL, as part of his major whirlwind media tour, the Kang said that he reached out to Jigga to drop a verse on the Cardiak produced banger. Unfortunately, due to timing, Jay could not come by in time, so Cliff did the next best thing and recruited one of the hip hop's most talented young emcees in MMG's Meek Mill, "I asked Jay to get on ['G Season']. I sent word to Jay-Z, I asked him to get on it. I know he had a lot of shit going on, so he never got around to it."
It was a chance meeting at a club that led to him recording with Meek, and on the spot they went to the studio and laid down their respective bars, "I finally ran into Meek in the club—we was at, when Kanye did that thing at the post office about five, six weeks ago. We was there together and I was like, Hey, man, I got something I want you to do. We left there, got something to eat, then we went to Just Blaze’s studio in Harlem and laid the shit down right there."
While having one of the legends in the game appear would be exciting, not many fans would argue with the final result Tip and Mill produced on the track.
