Jhené Aiko holds it down for the hood in alternate "Don't Call Me" video.

The recent birthday girl Jhené Aiko has come through with an alternate take of her Trip single "Never Call Me." It's a far cry from the original video, which features Aiko in an idyllic Japanese garden. This time around, Aiko takes it back to the hood, as she wanders through South Central L.A. with a freedom Tekashi 6ix9ine may very well never know. The clip features appearances from Nipsey HussleDom Kennedy, Jay 305, Hit-Boy, and her sister Mila J. Naturally, Kurupt Young Gotti is present, proving once and for all that Jhené's street cred is on point.

Overall, the video is well suited to the song's distinctly West Coast vibes. It serves to imbue the track with a certain sense of realness, which the alternate video tended to avoid; that's not to say it wasn't a visually striking journey, but perhaps the song was truly meant for a "Hood Edition." Either way, Aiko is a real one for this.
