Next month, listeners will get to tune into Revamp, one of two efforts in which familiar artists of today will be putting their own spin on covers of classic tracks made popular by British singer and musician Sir Elton John.
This week, we got a taste of what’s to come with the debut of Q-Tip and Demi Lovato’s collaborative rework of 1976’s “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” and soon enough we were gifted with a new video that packs just as much soul and color as the duo’s rendition of the track. “Elton was gracious enough to be a part of this last Tribe album that we did,” Q-Tip previously explained of Elton John’s appearance on A Tribe Called Quest’s We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. “When it came around to this, it was just serendipitous and logical to return the favor.”
The extensive list of other names set to appear on Revamp includes Mary J. Blige, Logic, Alessia Cara, Coldplay, P!nk, Florence + The Machine, The Killers, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Mumford & Sons, Queens Of The Stone Age, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Elton John himself.
Revamp arrives on April 6th.
