In his latest visual outing, Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth has delivered on a new music video for his “Can’t Get Close” track which serves as tribute to his longtime friend Dominic “Money Clip D” Brown, who was gunned down in 2011. In the video, we catch Trae as he looks back on old reels of himself and Brown while delivering on an open letter of sorts.
“We were together 24/7. We lived together. We had the good, the bad, just a whole bunch of fun experiences within life itself. We lived. With us, we just did what we wanted to do, he noted of his friendship with Money Clip D back in August, adding that “He believed in me. Even when others didn’t, he was rooting [for me] like, ‘He gon’ be that one day.’ It was kind of messed up because right before I actually signed with T.I. was when he passed so he didn’t really get to see a lot of the accomplishments I got now. Everything I do, I still stay reppin’ for him. I know he could see it from up there.”
