Hayward could be out of the walking boot in a couple weeks.

Robyn Hayward, wife of Boston Celtics All-Star forward Gordon Hayward, recently shared a video on her instagram account which showed Gordon sitting at a desk without his walking boot on. Naturally, fans began speculating that Hayward no longer needed the boot and would be returning to the court sooner than expected.

While that's not the case, Hayward does still need the walking boot, there is hope that he could be walking without it in the near future.

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge, provided fans with a promising update during a radio interview today on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher & Rich.”

"He can take the boot off for short periods of time, but yeah, he’s doing really well."

“His therapy is going great. He’s right on schedule. He’s doing sometimes two workouts a day trying to get stronger. And the next phases are just getting out of the boot completely, but I still think that’s a couple weeks away from being permanently out of the boot.”

Ainge noted that the team won't rush to get Hayward back on the court, but the way the 27-year old forward is progressing you can't rule out a potential return late in the season. Especially if the Celtics make a deep playoff run as expected.

While Hayward handles his rehab, the Celtics have continued to take care of business on the court. Boston is currently sitting atop the Eastern Conference with an NBA-best 22-4 record.
