Post Malone is following up his last release "Rockstar" with merchandise that fronts the single's aesthetic.
Rolling out on his website, the collection offers hoodies, long-sleeve and short-sleeve t-shirts, mesh shorts and a bandana that reads "Rest in Peace Bon Scott," paying homage to the AC/DC rockstar. The drop also features a vinyl of the "Rockstar" single.
Prices for the merchandise go from $14 to $60.
Not too long ago a self-proclaimed fan of Post Malone tweeted his frustration with "Rockstar" saying he didn't like how Post "glamorizes/normalizes popping pills." He added, "What makes it worse it is all contrived. He’s not doing it but convincing our children to do it while he profits from their pain."
Although Post may receive a lot of tweets of this nature, he had to respond to clear things up. Post tweeted back at the user, who goes by Derek Schwartz, saying: "Never did i once tell anybody's children to take ANY pills. music is about experiences.i have the right say whatever the helli want." Derek didn't stop there, he followed up his comments with: "I know you didn’t say it directly I was just talking about the impact your songs have," replied Schwartz. "These kids look up to you. What you say matters."
Post's final response to the matter was a piece of advice: "Like i said man, there's a perfectly good clean version for people who feel just like you," the rapper explained. "They don't even let you say uzi anymore lol."
The beat behind the hit track that features 21 Savage was created by a biology student, Tank God, while he was in the middle of his finals week. He ended up taking a trip down to New York and ran into Post where he asked him to listen to his new creation.
"Post Malone was in another studio room close by," Tank said. "We ended up crossing paths and I asked him if I could play some beats. He said, 'Let's get weird,' so I played him that beat and the rest is history."
