Nipsey Hussle respects Eminem for his BET freestyle.

Eminem continues to have praise heaped upon him for his scathing freestyle that took aim at President Donald Trump. The cypher aired during the BET Hip-Hop Awards telecast and, since then, many an emcee has shared their thoughts on the performance and whether or not they were a fan of the Michigan native going after the Commander-in-Chief as he did. Besides names like T.I., Diddy, J. Cole and many others, he can now count of the OG's behind the "F**k Donald Trump" movement in hip-hop, Nipsey Hussle, as one of his supporters.

In a statement to Billboard, Hussle tipped his cap to Eminem for his venomous cypher, which highlighted such issues as lax gun control and his delayed action on behalf of those in Puerto Rico that Trump has been criticized for in other circles. For Nipsey, the underlying motive is what meant a lot to him. "The message is what's important," says Hussle. "I respect Eminem for being vocal, I respect YG for being vocal, [and] I respect myself for being vocal." His collaborator on the aforementioned 2016 song, YG, also let his voice be heard where Slim Shady's freestyle is concerned, but not necessarily in the way you think.

"So we don't get no credit for dissing TRUMP a year ago?" said the rapper in a tweet that he has since deleted. "Mann, FUCK TRUMP 4reals tho. Fuck this internet shit. It's really fuck em." He seemed a little sore that, in the wake of Eminem's now-viral take-down of the President, his and Nipsey's previous contribution to the cause has gone overlooked. To be fair, YG has definitely put in the work when it comes to dragging Donald Trump. He's already released a "FDT" remix featuring G-Eazy, two videos, and even named his tour F**k Donald Trump. They're fighting the same fight to be sure, but the Compton native wants the world to know he was here first.
