After he had slipped up a bit with his previous release, T.I. came back with a vengeance at the tail end of 2012, dropping his return to form album Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head. Discussing what he has in store for 2013, Tip says he plans to amp up everything for himself and Grand Hustle. In an interview with Al Lindstrom, the Kang also discussed his decision to add Iggy Azalea and Trae Tha Truth to his roster, and even hints at a possible Grand Hustle collabo project.
After working tirelessly the past year, it appears the Trouble Man rapper has no intention of slowing down, and says he plans to repeat the last year, but go even harder, “I just wanna be better next year than I was this year, simple as that. The details are minute, I just want to be better however I can, in any way I can.”
When asked about his decision to sign Aussie export Iggy Azalea and H-Town rapper Trae Tha Truth, T.I. says it was Iggy’s personality that drew him in, “They both got my attention for different reasons. Iggy just extremely outspoken, she knows what she wants out of life. She says what she feels, and I can respect that. She has an incredible since of what she wants for herself, and how she wants her brand to be represented, and I salute that.” In regards to Trae, it was his work ethic that made The King of the South decide to put him on board, “Trae, I was impressed more so than anything else, by his work ethic...personally we just click, we have a lot in common.”
Asked about ATL’s B.o.B, Tip said fans can expect him to “come back hard” and when asked about a possible collaboration with everyone on the label, the Grand Hustle honcho said it’s possible, “We lookin into it, a [Grand] Hustle Gang album, we lookin into it.”
