Since his original emergence onto the scene with "Pop The Trunk," Yelawolf has steadily evolved as an artist. Gone are the days of turn-up, aggressive bangers; instead, Yela has embraced his roots, delivering a unique brand of Southern Gothic infused hip-hop. Elements of folk, country, and rock pervaded both Love Story and Trial By Fire. The stylistic shift may have been off-putting to purists, but you gotta respect an artist who remains unabashedly themselves. Such is life in Yela's new Mad Max inspired visuals for "Get Mine," which feature Kid Rock handling the hook.
Cowboy hats, leather vests, whiskey references, studded belts, and band-t-shirt wearing ladies are the foundation. Yelawolf leads the charge with a charismatic performance, embodying everything that makes the underrated series Justified so dope. Granted, if you don't buy into the vibe, you'll no doubt skip this one. If, however, you've been riding with Yela since day one, the grandiose budget of "Get Mine" is a testament to how far he's come.
