Shy Glizzy a.k.a Young Jefe's been bubbling up for the past few years but it felt like 2017 was his most successful year to date. The release of his two projects last year, The World Is Yours and Quiet Storm, garnered some well deserved attention from the masses. One track in particular off Quiet Storm that stood out was his collab with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Trey Songz on "Dope Boy Magic." Glizzy recently joined us for an episode of "HNHH Between The Lines" where he broke down some of the lyrics on the track.
Shy Glizzy brings his reality to music and each bar he spits draws from life experience from the present or past. In the opening bar of the song, he raps, "Girl what your name is/ Tell me who you came with/ Ain’t nothin’ like none of these industry cats, street n*gga, I’m dangerous." He explains that he's trying to tell a girl what he's about while trying to get to know her.
"I'm trying to get to know you but I'm also introducing myself," he said, "I'm already putting you onto who I am. I ain't nothin' like these industry cats, street guy. I'm dangerous. So I'm already lettin' you know what you gettin' yourself into, you know what I'm saying?"
He gives a full break down on his verse of his song on the latest episode of "HNHH Between The Lines." You could also watch his episode of "How To Roll" below.
