It appears Meek Mill is staying a busy man behind bars. According to TMZ, the MMG rapper is currently bouncing around between several different jobs at the moment, and he’s only making 19 cents an hour while doing so. Talk about a paycheck difference. Meek used to get booked for $30K a night, now he’s making pennies on the dollar, literally.
Serving his 2 to 4 years at the Pennsylvania SCI Chester, Meek is reportedly part of the general labor crew, getting his hands dirty in various random projects. A source says Meek does everything from clean cell blocks & tidy up prison grounds to cook food & wash dishes, he does whatever “general labor” is necessary at the time. He also apparently serves food too, which I'm sure fellow inmates appreciate.
The source says Meek is doing all this work with a smile on his face too, and is considered a model inmate who’s been getting some nice perks due to good behavior. Meek reportedly gets access to electrical and carpentry shops, and he's waiting to get into some therapy courses. Mind you, he’s only receiving 19 cents an hour too, which if you think about comes out to be only $1.52 over an 8-hour shift. Talk about brutal.
As for Meek’s latest legal woes, his lawyers just filed a new bail motion in efforts to continue their appeal, but we’ll have to see what happens. They were just denied bail last week after the judge said Meek was a "danger to the community.”
We’ll continue to keep you posted on all the latest with Meek moving forward. Keep it locked.
