Magic to testify as witness.

Magic Johnson has been subpoenaed as a witness in a civil lawsuit against Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green. According to ESPN, Magic is being asked to testify because of a tweet he posted after an alleged assault involving Draymond Green, in which he indicated he'd had a conversation with Draymond and that Draymond was very apologetic.

Magic has now been asked to testify at the Los Angeles Lakers practice facility on October 4th and he has agreed to appear, according to ESPN.

Former Michigan State football player, Jermaine Edmondson, pressed charges against Draymond Green for an incident that took place last year, in which Draymond allegedly punched him in the face at an East Lansing bar.

According to the report by TMZ, Edmondson alleges Draymond's friends attacked him and his girlfriend on July 10th of last year. Edmondson also claims that the next day he confronted Draymond, and the Warriors forward punched him in the face. A cop who saw it all go down arrested Draymond for assault.

The victim reportedly quit the football team and left Michigan State University for a while after the attack, but says he still wakes up crying and has received threats from Warriors fans among others.

Per TMZ,

"I think about what happened with Draymond every day. I still feel his hand on my jaw."

Edmondson and his girlfriend have since hired Lisa Bloom, the woman who is representing Blac Chyna, and have sued Draymond for assault and battery.

“This is a case in which there are few eyewitnesses other than the parties themselves. This means that it is especially important to find out what Mr. Green told others about what happened,” plaintiff attorney Lisa Bloom wrote in an email, via DetroitNews.com.

According to ESPN, "Green, who was arrested for allegedly slapping Edmondson and faced a $500 fine and up to 90 days in jail, reached a plea deal that reduced the charges to a noise violation and a civil infraction, which carried a $500 fine and $60 in jail restitution."
