Twitter recently announced the 10 most retweeted athlete tweets of 2017, and LeBron James took home the crown with a 140-character jab at President Trump that was retweeted 661,228 times and counting.
After Trump uninvited Steph Curry from the White House, LeBron dropped the most retweeted athlete tweet of the year which read, "U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!"
The second most retweeted tweet from an athlete in 2017 came from the finger tips of Detroit Lions punter, Sam Martin, who vowed to donate six pounds of dog food to Houston for every retweet he got. That message was retweeted more than 623,000, aka 3,738,000 pounds of chow.
Rounding out the Top-3 is Colin Kaepernick, who tweeted "I appreciate you @Eminem" along with a video of Eminem's 2:20 freestyle from the Hip Hop Awards.
The shortest tweet to crack the Top-10 of the year was Floyd Mayweather's simple "50-0," which he sent from his Las Vegas strip club, Girl Collection, following his victory over Conor McGregor in August.
