Gearing up for the release of his sophomore album, Big Sean has been steadily teasing fans with info and tracks from the project. While the project has been pushed back, Sean says that there is a new release date, but he cannot tell fans when it is yet. He also says the tone of the album will be “inspirational” and “intellectual” but also filled with “bangers”.
In a recent interview with Rap-Up, the Detroit rapper was asked when fans cans expect Hall Of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player to be released, and although he confirmed there is a set release date, he would not say when, only that it will be early in 2013. “Hall of Fame early next year, we do have an exact date, but I can’t say it yet man, but it’s coming early next year, “ the G.O.O.D. Music artist said.
Speaking about the tone and subject matter of the songs, Sean said it will be similar to the vlogs he has been releasing, and while he does get deep, the album will still have plenty of club-friendly tunes, “You know the vlogs I’ve been doing ya know talking about reality, imagination, a lot of the album has that same tone, being super inspirational, super intellectual,” Big Sean adds, “Of course it still got bangers on there too. It’s like an emotional rollercoaster.”
After giving a fans a taste of upcoming material with “Guap” and “She”, the Detroit native said the next single is recorded but it is yet to be selected, “Nah but we got it [next single] though, I just haven’t chose which one Imma do...it’s gonna be different, completely different than ‘Guap’ or the mixtape stuff.”
