The Detroit Lions moved to 2-0 on the season after picking up a 24-10 victory over the New York Giants in front of a disgruntled fan base at MetLife Stadium last night. Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham suited up for the first time this season but was held to just four catches for 36 yards as New York's offensive line failed to protect Eli Manning.
The Lions recorded five sacks on the night, picked off Eli once, and rookie Jamal Agnew put the icing on the cake with an 88-yard punt return that looked something like this.
After the loss, Giants head coach Ben McAdoo was critical of Eli Manning and his "sloppy quarterback play," but there was plenty of blame to go around and McAdoo was on the receiving end of some backlash as well.
The 2-0 Lions will head back to Detroit for a Week 3 matchup on Sunday afternoon against the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons, a team that is also unbeaten thus far. The G-Men, in search of their first win, will head to Philadelphia for a showdown with the Eagles.
