On Sunday, Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had his season ended when he broke his ankle on a 4th quarter play against the Los Angeles Chargers. Having been carted off the field with tears rolling down his face, things didn't look good for the star wide receiver moving forward. On Monday, the team announced that they had placed Beckham on injured reserve, and confirmed that the star WR would indeed under go surgery on his fractured ankle.
Wasting no time, OBJ went under the knife late Monday night and later reassured fans that “he’ll be back better than ever,” or so he says on his IG post Tuesday morning. While laid up recovering in the hospital bed Tuesday, it turns out the Giants wide receiver had one of his close friends stop by for some moral support, and that being Drake.
The Toronto superstar took time out of his day and paid a visit by Odell’s bedside in the hospital, posting a pic on Instagram and leaving the caption “Had to come visit bro...bounce back like 13 @obj 🙏🏽 (my 13 is backwards but it’s still bless).”
The bromance between and Drake & OBJ has been an ongoing thing over the past couple years. From touring together overseas to OBJ actually living at Drake’s house over the Summer in Calabasas, the two superstars have built an unbreakable bond that stems deeper than their respective skills.
"To see his whole story and then to finally be able to meet him, a guy like that whose mindset is very similar to mine," OBJ said about Drake in an interview last year. "Like I said, he wants to be the greatest. He wants to put out the best song every single time. I understand where he’s at.”
Check out Drizzy’s IG post (below), and look out for some new music to surface hopefully sooner than later. In fact, fellow Giants safety Landon Collins shared an unreleased song on his IG a few weeks ago and Drake was recently spotted cooking up in the studio. So all signs are pointing that new music is on the way. Stay tuned.
