In a statement to Complex, Boston Calling Events co-founder and CEO Brian Appel spoke about his intentions with the festival, stating "with some new changes and features already announced on this year's festival, and many more on the way, we are ready and excited to treat our fans to an incredible weekend of performances from some of the world’s most iconic music acts." In total, this year's Boston Calling will feature fifty-four performances and three stages, with a special, as-of-yet unspecified program curated by Natalie Portman.
