Gunna has already shared two projects since November: Drip Or Drown, his collaborative project with Wheezy, and Drip Season 3, a full-length solo effort. Both projects showed considerable growth from the Young Thug collaborator, and his latest track continues that evolution and streak of prolificacy. Shared on the SoundCloud of Farri, who co-produced the song with Ricky Racks, "On Too Me' is a raw record that sounds like it could use some mastering, but the ideas are all there. Gunna barely takes a breath on the creeping beat, keeping his forward momentum going with effortless punchlines and subtle melodies.
In an HNHH interview last year, Gunna spoke of the unique music coming out of his hometown of Atlanta. "I feel like Atlanta -- it’s just our style. I feel like style complements music, they go together," he said. "Our city, our state, that we come with fly shit -- lot of clothes and a lot of expensive cars and all that shit -- it helps with the music. That’s how you got good artists who put out good music, who can really put that shit together, who really live that life." Read the full interview here.
Quotable Lyrics:
I'm taking that power, no Austin
And money come green like Boston
Young n---a don't need no voucher
I'm still rockin' Louis pouches
These bitches like "ooh he bossin'"
