Last week, Ja Rule finished serving his time for a 2007 gun charge, and was released from state prison in central New York. He had still yet to complete his sentence for tax evasion however, which he was to serve concurrently with his other charge. Ja subsequently landed himself back in custody to finish up the tax sentence, but now has a release date set this summer.
Ja will see release from Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center on July 28th. His attorney has commented on his situation, declaring that the Queens rapper is excited to get back to his old life, as well as pay back the $1.1 million he owes to the government.
"Many people are looking forward to experiencing his talent again," said Ja's attorney Stacey Richman, adding that the rapper is also looking forward to his daughter's graduation. "He's a devoted father."
