The NFL's individual awards, including league MVP, Coach of the Year, and Rookie of the Year, will officially be handed out on Saturday at 9pm ET.
However, it looks like New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has already been informed that he will be named NFL MVP for the third time in his illustrious career.
Brad E. Schlossman of The Grand Forks Herald's posted a photo during a New England Patriots press conference yesterday, which shows a man carrying a document titled "Brady Acceptance Speech." The question is, did Brady take time out of his Super Bowl prep to actually write this acceptance speech or is this the work of a Patriots staffer?
It wouldn't be a surprise if (when) Brady is announced as the 2017 NFL MVP, as he is the odds on favorite to take home the hardware. Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is the only other player that bettors can place a wager on at spots like OddsShark.
Brady threw for a league-high 4,577 yards this season as well as 32 touchdowns to just eight interceptions, while leading the Patriots to a 13-3 record and a #1 seed in the AFC. If/when he is presented with the MVP trophy, he'll join Johnny Unitas, Brett Favre and Jim Brown as players who have received the honor three times. Only Peyton Manning, who won the award five times during his career, has more MVPs than that elite group.
