A few years ago, Dee-1 had a decision to make. A Lousiana State University graduate and schoolteacher at the time, Dee was merely moonlighting as a rapper and would soon realize that he had to choose his truest path and the New Orleans-bred emcee has been cashing in on his decision ever since. After dropping off a surprise mixtape, Slingshot David, in 2016, Dee-1 revived the masses with a major studio debut of the same name at the tail end of last year.
On the extensive 26-song track list, anchored down by cohesive skits, we got appearances from the likes of Avery Wilson, Kango Slim, and Sevyn Streeter, and Dee-1 now delivers on the visuals for his collaboration with Streeter with the music video for "Love Always Wins."
“Working on this song with Sevyn felt magical. We both put our hearts into it and we know how much the world needs to hear this message,” Dee said of the track. “With all the fighting, discrimination, shooting and hating going on, it’s important to know that love is more powerful than anything.”
