Sunday night, the Denver Broncos went on to strengthen their record to 2-0 while putting a dent in the strong start that the Dallas Cowboys experienced a week before when they faced off with the New York Giants. Coming into the match, both squads were viewed as serious Super Bowl contenders as the Cowboys’ team came off a stellar performance on both ends with their defense keeping Giants’ Eli Manning at bay the week before while Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Ellitott held down for the offense.
Where the Broncos were concerned this Sunday, quarterback Trevor Siemian threw four touchdown passes—a career high while the Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott, who in conjunction with Prescott was slated to be a bit of an issue for the Broncos’ defense, faced one of the worst perfromanes of his professional carrer, going just 8 yards on 9 carries.
Despite an hour-long weather delay, the Cowboys could never quite regain their momentum—a fact that maintained from the start and permeated all the way to a 103-yard interception from Denver’s Aqib Talib that pretty much topped off a rather humiliating blowout of 42-17.
