Anybody over the age of twenty-five can probably remember an era where Erick Sermon and Redman's "React" was everywhere, and for good reason. The Just Blaze produced track may have been Sermon's biggest hit, but the EPMD rapper slash producer enjoyed a long and storied catalog, with six studio albums and seven with EPMD. Today, Erick Sermon has unveiled plans to return to the fold, announcing a new crowdfunded album called Go, and sharing the project's lead single "Come Thru," which features Method Man, Mr. Cheeks, and Craig Mack.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Erick Sermon opens up about the track, describing it as "a party record; a regular freestyle record. The mixture [of Method Man, Mr. Cheeks and Craig Mack] makes a good club record. Getting everyone to collaborate is like friends getting back together. Everyone who I'm on the record with I'm already friends with, so it's like a normal get-together."
Go is set to feature Pharrell, AZ, Redman, Too Short, Styles P, Ghostface Killah, Big K.R.I.T, Devin The Dude, Rockwilder, Rico Barrino and Kid Capri. If you're interested in helping to fund the project, check out the Kickstarter page here.
Quotable Lyrics
That's why I wear the fitted so low key,
That's why I kill a critic for no fee,
Then tell the judge I did it and go free
