The New York Knicks are the 17th team in the NBA to sign a deal to wear an advertising patch on their jersey, announcing today their partnership with website publishing platform Squarespace.
According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, terms of the deal were not disclosed but as part of the partnership, the Madison Square Garden Company, owners of the Knicks and the Garden, and Squarespace will provide financial support and give digital advertising opportunities to local small businesses that use the website platform.
The Squarespace logo will begin appearing on Knicks jerseys starting with this Friday's preseason game against the Washington Wizards. Fans can buy the Squarespace-patched jerseys inside Madison Square Garden but, as with all NBA teams, jerseys bought outside team stores will not have the corporate logos on them.

Some of the other NBA franchises to secure jersey sponsorship deals include the Los Angeles Lakers (Wish), Philadelphia Sixers (StubHub), Golden State Warriors (Rakuten), Brooklyn Nets (Infor), Boston Celtics (General Electric), Cleveland Cavaliers (Goodyear), Milwaukee Bucks (Harley-Davidson), Orlando Magic (Disney) and Sacramento Kings (Blue Diamond Almonds).
The New York Knicks will kick off their 2017 regular season next Thursday, October 19th in Oklahoma City against Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Paul George and the Thunder. New York's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st, when they'll take on the Detroit Pistons.
