Fabolous has been in the game for nearly 15 years and managed to not only stay relevant but continue to create hot music. His latest project The S.O.U.L. Tape 2 is dropping tomorrow on Thanksgiving, and the “So NY” rapper talks about the sound fans can expect and names some of the features which include an appearance by J. Cole.
In an interview with OnSMASH, Fab was asked why he decides to drop tapes on the holidays, and he says it’s perfect because people can just relax and enjoy, “Niggas is sitting around waiting for food...[and women] need some shit to vibe to during the cooking.”
Talking about the sound, Loso says this will be similar to the first S.O.U.L. Tape, and it’s a sound he likes because not as many big name artists use it. “[I] kept the same type of vibe, the bread is different from some of the other music I normally do or put out...we kept the vibe and the music soulful,” Fabolous adds, “People were doing less of that music, especially mainstream artists.”
The NYC native was then asked about the collabos on the tape, and if it would be some of the familiar names of the past, but Fabo says he likes to change it up, “this one I have some collaborations with people you might have heard me collaborate with before...not just have the same collaborations as last time.”
As far as who to expect as guests on the mixtape, he drops some big names including J. Cole, Wale, and Joe Budden, “we still working till the deadline...we got J. Cole out there, we got your boy Troy Ave on there...got Wale on there...I got Joe Budden on there.”
