Cardi B has been on a meteoric rise to success over the past couple months thanks to her chart topping single “Bodak Yellow,” but just because she's becoming a household name recently doesn't mean she won't still pop off on a hater when necessary. On Sunday night during her performance at the Pearl Beach Club in the Dominican Republic, one particular fan wanted to get Cardi's attention and decided to throw some champagne on stage, which landed on both Cardi and her entourage, but she definitely wasn’t having it. In fact, Cardi decided to stop the show and call out the fan in front of the entire crowd in the middle of her set.
“Don’t throw no fuckin’ champagne cause we can throw these mother-fuckin’ hands,” she begins her rant. “I don’t give a fuck what you payed for my nigga, you can see me in New York. I don’t care, it’s not that serious. But you not going to be disrespecting my fuckin’ people.”
The response instantly drew cheers from the crowd. However the rapper didn't stop there. Early Monday afternoon (Oct. 9), Cardi doubled-down on her statement in an Instagram post. "My momma taught me to stand up for who you love and go to war for them if necessary," she captioned a pic from the BET Hip-Hop Awards. "Sorry if you don't love yours like I love mines.”
This story surfaces just hours after finding out that Cardi is breaking more Billboard records. If you missed it, she now holds the record for most weeks at #1 for a female artist with no features. As of Monday, “Bodak Yellow” topped the Billboard charts for three (3) straight weeks, which is quite the accomplishment in itself.
Check out Cardi’s rant & pop off session (below) and let that be a warning to fans trying to get her attention moving forward.
