Night Lovell promises a return to his roots on "On The Come Up's" eighth season premiere.

Canada's Nation's Capital has a secret and not even the joint force of the RCMP can stop it. Ottawa rapper Night Lovell leads the eighth season of On The Come Up, setting the bar for what promises to be a stacked line-up of talent. Lovell has been steadily perfecting his brand of ominous self produced music, inspired in equal parts by lust and horror. A pioneer of the DIY movement, it's only a matter of time before Lovell's cult following expands into full-blown legion.

Cut from the same cloth as his SoundCloud favoring contemporaries, Lovell has embraced the shift away from "the album" as a means of expression. The young rapper teases "a whole bunch of different songs," making it clear that he "doesn't have the inspiration to call it an album." As for vibe, it seems likely that Lovell will revisit the macabre tone of his seminal work, promising a return to the darker vibes of Concept Vague. Catch up with Night Lovell and stay tuned for more artists to follow.
