It's not Throwback Thursday today so don't get it twisted. YGTUT merely felt nostalgic while digging through the vaults and decided to hit us with an unreleased banger. Luckily, said banger is a collaboration with the talented and reclusive Isaiah Rashad, who has been ducking the spotlight since the release of 2016's The Sun's Tirade. Like Lil Wayne & T-Pain's surprise T-Wayne drop last year, this is old new shit. Originally birthed in 2011 as the product of a stagnant night in Chattanooga and the promise of free recording time courtesy of "some random dude," "Trill Dreams" is a welcome surprise.
“This song is really old, but people always ask me for it so I figured I would put it out," explains YGTUT, to Complex. For some context, "Trill Dreams" was recorded before Isaiah and YGTTUT dropped Clivia Demo and Preacher’s Son. Either way, the track itself delivers what it promises, at once embodying the flavor the dirty South with a welcome addition of some West Coast flair.
Quotable Lyrics
I tell my mama don't you worry I'm gon' make it better
I pray God shelters through bad weather as I give my efforts
My left leg and right leg I try to keep em seperate
I swear I have that pussy runnin' like a fuckin' leopard
