Wink Loc has recruited some of the West Coast's finest for "What I Do," a highlight off his new project Locomotive 4. The soul-sampling production meets is more representative of Loc's Flatbush than Nipsey Hussle and G Perico's L.A., but everyone is at their storytelling best over the nostalgic instrumental. It's been 3 years since Locomotive 3, but Loc hasn't missed a step, bringing out Sam Scarfo, Boxx, Ran Christion, Haddy Racks, and Count Roll Up on the new project. If you're unfamiliar with his work, "What I Do" is not a bad place to start.
G Perico released two solo albums and one collaborative album this year. In December he shared 2 Tha Left, which followed April's All Blue and September's G-Worthy with Cardo and Jay Worthy. Meanwhile, Nipsey teamed up with Bino Rideaux for No Pressure in November. He's expected to release his album Victory Lap, which was first announced a number of years ago, in the near future.
Quotable Lyrics:
I'm on my own
Trynna bang for a major deal
Maximizin' fame
I orchestrate this change
Banging' hard only led to an early grave
All my homies dyin'
But they blamin' me?
I'm idolized by the masses
What they see in me?
