Those who make beats understand the practiced nuance behind every decision, from the percussive arrangement to the EQ tinkering stage. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea, those who appreciate the art of production can appreciate watching a master at work; it's like watching poker or e-sports, you either get it or you don't. Today, we're eager to venture "Behind The Beat" as it were, with Miami's own Reazy Renegade. You might recognize his work if you happened to catch "Phone Jumpin," Dave East's frantic collaboration with Wiz Khalifa.
While he goes in depth about the process, Reazy opens up about the track's skeleton. Like many great things, it originated from the Goliath-sized shadow of Busta Rhymes. "One of my favorite artists is Busta Rhymes," explains Reazy. "I always loved to hear that ["Gimmie Sum More"] sample, so I definitely reached back in the bin and grabbed that out. I just wanted to flip it my way."
